Vice President Strategy

The Vice President of Strategy will lead Health Alliance Plan’s (HAP) strategic planning initiatives, with a focus on driving strategic partnership and integration with Henry Ford Health (HFH) and its value-based assets. This senior leader will work closely with the executive team of HFH, HAP, and other key value-based stakeholders across long-term growth, sustainability, and alignment missions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of executing strategic initiatives that drive results.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Planning and Development:
Lead the development and execution of the organization’s strategic planning cycles in collaboration with HFH & HAP senior leadership. Develop strategies to expand market presence, enhance member experience, and improve HAP's organizational efficiency. Analyze national and regional market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities and risks. Value-Based Integration and Partnerships:
Oversee the development and execution of HFH & HAP integration initiatives, including support of HFH’s value-based cabinet and the alignment of HAP with HFH value-based assets. Facilitate collaborative partnerships within and outside the HFH enterprise that align incentives and improve patient outcomes. Build and strengthen relationships with HFH- and non-HFH providers, hospitals, and other healthcare stakeholders to create and support value-based care delivery models. Innovation and Growth:
Identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities, including new products, services, & geographic expansions. Drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies, care delivery models, and member engagement strategies. Support efforts to develop new revenue streams through partnerships or strategic ventures. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare management or a related field. 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in strategy, business development, or provider integration, preferably in a health plan or healthcare organization. Strong knowledge of national healthcare trends, regulatory frameworks, and value-based care models. Demonstrated record of working across and delivering against responsibilities in health plan, provider, and integrated ‘payvider’ markets. Demonstrated record of forging successful partnerships and leading cross-functional initiatives. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels. Direct experience working within senior leadership teams and working closely with Board of Directors to set the strategy of a healthcare organization. Experience working in (or with) innovative, growth-stage healthcare organizations and healthcare venture capital and private equity organizations. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute operationally in a fast-paced environment.
