Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated DHH (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) Teacher in Long Beach, CA. In this role, you will assist in providing exceptional coursework to all students, particularly those with learning disabilities or other special needs, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Description:

• School Site(s): Various school sites - itinerant position
• Caseload (per school): No set caseload per site; 25 students requiring various service minutes across the district.
• Start Date: December
• End Date: July
• Additional Details: The position requires a DHH credential and the ability to perform initial and re-evaluation assessments. Fluency in ASL is preferred but not mandatory. Experience with assistive technologies and tools to support DHH students is required.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction in core subjects using research-based methods, including multisensory learning, repetition, and phonetics.
• Develop and communicate educational strategies to parents, teachers, and support staff.
• Maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Administer assessments to evaluate learning progress and diagnose any learning disabilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field.
• Valid state-specific DHH credentials.
• Previous school experience is preferred but not required.
