Job Purpose
As a Mechanical Designer II, you will be a key member of the growing MacDermid Envio Solutions (MES) engineering team. This is an office-based position out of our Rock Hill, SC location in which you will be responsible for working on all stages of our production cycles, from research and design to manufacturing, installation, and evaluation. To be successful as a Designer, you will lead the development of the technical documentation for the project, work with the Engineering team to develop sizing for pumps, plumbing, structural framing, and wastewater treatment systems. Within this role you will lead CAD coordination efforts in developing P&IDs, 3D models and assemblies, BOMs, and drawing packages, adapting the designs according to customer parameters and needs.

Job Responsibilities
- Use AutoCAD to develop plant layouts and P&IDs derived from written and verbal sales communications.
- Use 3D modeling (AutoDesk Inventor preferred) generate parts, assemblies, BOMs, and drawings packages .
- Provide guidance and support in the planning, design, layout, analysis, implementation, and validation of wastewater treatment systems.
- Determine design requirements, prepare specifications and drawings for capital projects.
- Read, interpret, prepare, review, and revise blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Conduct assessments of existing and proposed systems for improvements, cost benefit analysis, and upgrades.
- Must be capable of performing independent design tasks, reviewing the designs of others, preparing drawings and specifications, and organizing all drawings, and reports, associated with project deliverables.
- Assist in generating and developing design standards and best practices
- Modify, design, and develop equipment to increase safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills to effectively interface with clients and be capable to lead project progress meetings, make project presentations, and provide clear written communications.
- Team orientation with the ability to work well with others of all disciplines
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Continuous improvement driven with a willingness to adopt new ideas/skills
- MS Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- 2D and 3D modeling software (AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor preferred)
- Independent and self-motivated to achieve goals
- Effective time-management skills understand priorities and deliver on agreed goals
- Highly analytical and mechanically inclined mind, with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel as needed to assist with site investigations, installs, and startups
- Knowledge of ASME standards is a plus
- Fluids, mechanical, and structural analysis is a plus
- Chemical background is a plus
- GD&T is a plus
- 3-5 years of demonstrated experience utilizing 2D and 3D design softwares
- Knowledge of engineering drawing and drafting standards and best practices
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Wastewater experience is a plus
