HEAVY MACHINERY-Packaging Machines-Mechanical Assemblers perform tasks that are necessary to the production process. As a Mechanical Assembler, you must have an aptitude for mechanics and an eye for detail. A Mechanical Assembler should have the ability to comprehend and follow detailed verbal and written instructions, as well as diagrams, blueprints, and other technical documents. Must also maintain tidy work areas and follow detailed instructions to meet safety and quality requirements. Along with being a team player. Assemblers should have 2 to 5 years Mechanical Assembly Experience.
- Must be able to read manufacturer manual or work instruction to maintain machines or equipment such as automotive, household appliances.
- Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform preventive maintenance.
- Using tools to make or repair parts and products.
- Familiar with the use of personal computer (Data Entry, Scan, basic transactions in MRP software)
- Must have knowledge of basic shop math skills.
- Ability to use basic shop tools such as light powered mechanical tools, including hand tools, calipers, scale, measuring devices, and micrometers.
- Ability to fit and align and or adjust parts to meet specifications and requirements.
- Interpreting technical documents, such as diagrams, drawings, or other verbal or written instructions.
- Working with other members of the group to assemble products.
- Keeping a clean and tidy workspace.
- Meeting all safety requirements of the company and industry.
- Identifying any defective items and handling them according to established procedures.
- Using reason to solve problems as they arise.
- Communication to upper management regarding issues with the build, tooling, parts, or schematics
- Detail oriented, well organized and able to function in a team environment under deadlines.
- Team player attitude (humble, hungry and people smart)
- Results oriented and desire to grow in the organization.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Able to ascend and descend ladders.
- Able to work at heights (at least 25 ft.)
- Able to squat and sit for extended periods of time (at least 30 minutes).
- Will assemble complex packaging machines, make adjustments, and work within close tolerances based on established guidelines.
- Responsible for verifying quality on assembled parts.
- Verifies starting materials to ensure assemblies are complete prior to beginning job.
- Verifies final alignment(s) and powers on machines prior to shipment.
- Verifies that material meet the specification to ensure quality
- Complies with all 5S and CI initiatives.
- Follows all facility and department specific safety rules, procedures, and programs. Wearing all required personal protective equipment for all plant, department, and task specific requirements.
- May be asked to assist in the training of new employees.
- Maintains regular attendance and excellent punctuality.
- Work overtime as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
