Accounting Manager Overview & Responsibilities
- Month-end and Year-end Close: Take a leading role in executing the month-end and year-end closing processes, including AP and AR reconciliations, fixed assets and prepaid expenses, accruals, and bank reconciliations.
- Accounts Payable: Process and code invoices, ensuring they hit the right budget lines. Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, responding to payment inquiries.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency, implementing improvements as appropriate.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues in other departments, such as marketing, operations, and product development, to support their financial needs and provide insights to drive business decisions.
- Audit support: Serve as a point of contact for external auditors, providing requested documentation and support as needed.
To be successful:
- Financial systems literate, with strong experience in accounting and third-party systems.
- Strong Excel (index match, formatting, look-ups) abilities and proficiencies in managing large data sets.
- Preferred Netsuite and Bill.com experience.
- Get it done attitude, solutions-oriented problem solver.
- Takes radical accountability and ownership over their duties and responsibilities.
- Intellectually curious, with a genuine desire and drive to improve the business.
- Commutable 3 days a week to Beverly Hills with the ability to come in more often as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of overall GAAP accrual-based accounting experience.
