Job Summary:

The Accounting Intern will work directly with members of the Accounting Department at the Corporate Headquarters building in Lancaster, SC to gain hands-on work experience in the fields of Accounting and Finance, as it pertains to the Credit Union’s operations.

Job Functions:

• Develop an understanding of the Credit Union’s business model and core functions.
• Shadow all roles within the Accounting Department on a rotational basis.
• Assist with preparation of financial reporting and ad-hoc financial analysis.
• Conduct research for special projects or initiatives as assigned.
• Analyze and organize raw data to identify trends and insights, resulting in actionable information to share with Management.
• Comply with Founders’ policies and procedures, as well applicable laws, regulations, and statutes issued by federal agencies such as NCUA and FFIEC, including, but not limited to, GLB and BSA. Employees have legal and regulatory obligations to respect and protect the privacy of information and its integrity and confidentiality.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications:

• Actively enrolled student majoring in Accounting or Finance with technical accounting knowledge (must have completed sophomore year of college).
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Ability to work well within a team environment.
• Willingness to learn, problem-solve and take initiative.

Ideal candidate will be available Monday - Friday from 8 am - 5 pm; mid-May through early-August.

A pre-employment background screening, credit check and skills assessment will be required.
