JOB TITLE: N.O. Production Admin/Unassigned Makeup and Packaging Bake Shop Helper

WORKDAY GRADE LEVEL: H003

BASE RATE PER HOUR: $23 (Pay range: $23 - $26)

SHIFT: 3rd

# OF OPENINGS: 1

HOURS: Generally, starts as early as 10:45 PM until finish. Overtime and weekend work as needed. Starting times and hours may vary depending on coverage due to report-offs and the production schedule especially during holidays. Good attendance and punctuality required.

JOB SUMMARY/JOB DUTIES:

The following is intended to describe the general nature of the work being performed and is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities.

Scheduling Responsibilities:
* Schedules and updates weekly line schedules and Kronos for all shifts to ensure sufficient staffing by following established scheduling guidelines. Requires effective verbal and written communication with all levels of the organization.
* Ensures associates have successfully completed all training requirements (learning checklists, JSA, equipment specific lockout training, Alchemy, HACCP training, etc.) before being scheduled in a position.
* Monitors the absence reporting system, in partnership with leadership, to ensure appropriate scheduling and line coverage.
* Coordinates all paid time off requests, not scheduled days requests, pre-shift meetings, trainings, plant events, etc. to ensure appropriate scheduling and line coverage.
* Coordinates hearing tests, Powered Industrial Equipment physicals, follow-ups and other services with the Health Center.
Clerical responsibilities:
* Delivers inter-office mail to and from the supervisor's office area.
* Inventories and maintains 5S of all Operations supply storage areas and assists supervisors in maintaining 5S of their office area.
* Performs SAP/Ariba Requisitioner role to order supplies for the Operations and Sanitation departments using the SAP system and ensures accurate receipt of goods.
* Updates Supervisor's office bulletin boards with new posting requirements (vacation procedures, hourly holiday schedule, Holiday Schedule, etc.).
* Issues and maintains production associates' tools, supplies, lockers, etc.
* Checks condition of HACCP, CTS, and ingredient reference books. Replace and re-label as necessary.
* Coordinates with Maintenance the rounding of metal scraper corners as received and deliver rounded scrapers to steam room for cleaning prior to distributing.
Training and Development Responsibilities:
* Meets new hires, provide production tour, introduces to team, and completes departments and position specific orientation including safety, quality and policy expectations.
* Schedule and facilitate all Alchemy and job specific trainings.
* Maintains training skills matrix for production teams.
* Ensures timely completion of learning checklists, JSA's, Single Point Lessons, equipment specific lockout audits, Powered Industrial Equipment Certification, Alchemy, HACCP Training and other training requirements.
* Conducts audits and inspections to confirm compliance with established policies and procedures.
Bake Shop Helper Responsibilities:
This position covers BSH positions on the operations floor as needed. This position may be assigned to any of the following makeup and packaging positions on any line (see Supervisor for specific job descriptions): Makeup helper, Moulder Operator, Divider Operator, Oven Operator, Lidder, Pan Operator/Pan Area, Slicer/Feeder, Bagger, Caser, or Packaging helper. Racks products as needed, monitors bags and check for quality of product and packaging materials. Speed, manual dexterity, bending and lifting required. May stand in one position for prolonged period. Move pan trucks weighing up to 1500 lbs. Able to maintain specific product weights at the divider. Setup the oven and proofer per product centerlining and CTS. May lift up to 50 lbs. May be assigned to any of the packaging lines. Operates the bagger and kwik-lok machines, cases product into baskets or cases keeping up with the line speed. Monitors bags and codes for clarity and correctness. Checks for quality, proper wrap and bagging. Must understand code board. Feeds product into slicer or bagger flites. Racks and unracks bread as needed. May be called upon to assist other positions during operation and other duties as requested.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Decision Making Skills: Must have strong decision making and communication skills. They must have the ability to utilize/exercise good judgment, and they must ensure issues are quickly resolved and communicated with supervision. Fill out communication boards daily.
* Food Safety Awareness: Food safety awareness is critical in this position. This position will be held accountable to having a full understanding and adherence to the strictest compliance standards, in relation to HACCP, CTS, SOP, Safety, GMP, and JSA procedure and standards related to this position. Focused awareness and prevention of contamination/potential contamination, allergen control, and lot code traceability are key objectives in this role.
* Formula Control: Formula control is vital to ensuring compliance to label management of our products. Must abide to exact formula specifications and procedures, to ensure bread quality standards are maintained and label contents are aligned.
* Maintains work area to "5S" cleanliness, housekeeping and organizational standard.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Must possess a high school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent. Two years related experience and/or training.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Previous Scheduling experience preferred.
* Must have the ability to work independently, and be resourceful when needed, to complete given assignments in a timely manner.
* Must have good communication and organizational skills with ability to keep personnel information confidential.
* Must understand the HACCP, CTS, and Safety programs.
* Must be able to train and present information in a both an individual and group setting.
* Experience with computerized data entry required.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint preferred.
* Experience with Metal Detection program preferred.
* Experience as a Safety Squad Member preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, hot/cold temperature extremes, high industrial noise levels, forklift traffic and wet environments.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is expected to comply with all safety regulations, support plant safety initiatives, proper operating procedures and utilize prescribed safety equipment such as safety eyeglasses, safety shields, gloves, earplugs, respirators, and approved footwear.

Ability to deal with a changing work environment and high-pressure situations. Must be able to work in a team environment.

This position may require overtime as deemed necessary to support operations activities.

Employees' approved vacation subject to change when bidding to a new area.

There will be a 90-day evaluation period to ensure satisfactory performance.

Must stay on the job one year.

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
