One of Apple’s R&D groups is currently seeking a senior system hardware engineer. This engineer will be responsible for system level architecture and design of sensing systems from early concept prototyping to system architecture and physical implementation. Description

In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams such as mechanical, controls, AIML, and embedded FW engineers to realize sensor system designs. Responsibilities include:

  1. Drive system level sensor specification definition.
  2. System architecture and tradeoff analysis.
  3. Close collaboration with cross-functional teams across hardware and software.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or MS in electrical engineering or similar field
  • 8+ years of hands-on perception and sensor system design experience
  • Experience selecting and integrating electronics and sensors in novel architectures
  • Strong multi-domain engineering analytical skills
  • Experience developing system architecture, sensor systems analysis, and modeling
  • Strong fundamentals in sensors and the impact of impairments on sensor performance
  • Exceptional HW/SW problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented and capable of handling multiple assignments at once

Key Qualifications

  • PhD in electrical engineering or similar field
  • Experience leading teams through product development cycle from concept development to production bring up
  • Large scale data analysis and knowledge of statistical techniques
  • Strong communication, documentation and presentation skills

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
