Job Summary: The Strength/Conditioning and Athletic Trainer will provide health performance training as well as healthcare service both acute and chronic to the student-athletes within the Yorktown Central School District. This person will provide preventative care as well as post injury care to student-athletes. This person will oversee the Sports Medicine program and be responsible for ordering medical supplies, and medical equipment. The Strength & Conditioning/AT will also be required to make recommendations to the Director of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics on equipment and supplies related to the Strength and Conditioning of Yorktown Central School District students. The Strength/Conditioning/Athletic Trainer will encure concussion Return to Play protocols for all student-athletes are completed and documented prior to returning to competition. This person should have the ability to work cooperatively with the; Director of Athletics, Administrators, Healthcare workers, coaches, athletic trainer, students, and parents. This person will also oversee the maintenance, collection and distribution of uniforms and athletic equipment for the district's sports teams. They will oversee the Yorktown Central School District's AED maintenance and coordinate with the PPS Department in regards to outside maintenance and ordering of supplies.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A Master's Degree in Athletic Training (required).
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the field of Athletic Training
- Current BOC Certification
- Current NASM or NSCA Certification (PES or CSCS)
- Active NATA membership
- Current or eligible to obtain NYS Licensure as an Athletic Trainer
- Current certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED training
- The Strength/Conditioning and Athletic Trainer position will oversee the Sports Medicine program, provide individualized training plans based on Health & Exercise Science, lead performance enhancement sessions, and provide health services to the student/athlete as needed.
- Establish and implement a program for the purpose of minimizing injuries which includes preventative and follow-up care, conditioning programs, judicious equipment selection, athletic activity safety checks, and determination of physical fitness for participation in intended activities.
- Conduct initial evaluation following an injury and make decisions regarding the management of the injury.
- Provide student/athletes, coaches, school staff and parents with information regarding sound health habits, injury care and prevention practices; weight and pre-conditioning training.
- Assist the school physician and school nurse in ensuring that all student athletes have been examined and pre-screened prior to sports participation.
- Prepare and maintain detailed records on student/athlete's to include 'Accident Reports' and 'Concussion Screening'.
- Coordinate with Athletic Assistant in updating Coaching Certification of First Aid/CPR & AED.
- Maintain/update inventory for Athletic Training Supplies - order supplies in conjunction with Athletic Department Assistant.
- Maintain Athletic Training Equipment and arrange for servicing when needed.
- Coordinate with school nurse to inform coaches on status of injured athletes return to play.
- Performs other duties consistent with the position assigned.
- Coordinate uniform distribution, and collection for reconditioning. Maintain/update inventory of all uniforms specific to sport, level and gender.
