Fusion Cell is hiring: Heating Air Conditioning Technician in Rockford

Position: HVAC Technician

Location: Rockford, IL

Pay: $21-$34/hr depending on experience.

Summary: The HVAC Technician performs maintenance and repairs to all HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration repairs to HVAC and related equipment with minimal supervision
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, and other types of control systems
• Maintain boilers, heating systems, and associated equipment
• Install new equipment and relocate existing equipment as required
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to identify required work so repairs can be scheduled during other than high demand times and/or minimal interruption to production requirements
• Properly fill out Maintenance Work Requests to ensure accurate records of work performed on all equipment
• Keep work areas clean and safe from hazardous conditions

Qualifications & Experience:

• 3 to 7 years of experience in a similar field
• Must have experience with electrical 3 phase, 480 voltage
• Ability to understand and apply electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration drawings, schematics, and manuals
• Ability to diagnose and repair air handler chiller units and air conditioning units
• Ability to use basic electrical test equipment
• Demonstrated proficiency with all types of refrigeration tests and service equipment
• Proficient with all types of hand tools
• Proficient with brazing and soldering
• Ability to communicate effectively and function as a team member
• Must be able to work safely at heights and properly use all required safety equipment
• Must attend company-sponsored training courses as required
• Must be willing to work overtime as required

Education:

• High school education (or GED)
• CFC certified

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds at times.
