The Data Analyst will plan and execute efficient and innovative ways to improve workflow and processes across all business and administrative services.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience with State and Federal Reporting requirements, such as SIMS, SCS, EPIMS, and other DESE (or similar) reporting systems.
- Familiarity with Student Information Systems (SIS), School Brains preferred.
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Slides, etc).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy and consistency across systems.
- Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills to address reporting discrepancies and improve data quality.
- Excellent Communication Skills for collaboration with various school departments.
- Project Management Skills to handle multiple reporting deadlines and requirements.
- Completes and submits reports and other information to fulfill Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) reporting mandates.
- Guides data management of various school departments to ensure accuracy in state reporting.
- Maintains the accuracy and certification of all State Reporting - SIMS/SCS/EPIMS/SSDR/CRDC.
- Manages access to DESE security portal among district leaders & staff, supporting their use of this portal to view data and download as necessary.
- Administers the successful use of School Information System (SIS) across students, teachers, schools and school applications with a focus on state/federal guidelines and data integrity.
- School application examples include Clever, Finalsite, ELLevation, etc.
- Provides training and technical support for SIS functions and cross-application integrations.
- Oversees all student data, including but not limited to providing student data reports and attendance reports as required to Central Administration and school administrative staff.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Human Resources, Special Education Office, Family & Community Engagement Office, Registration Office, and Food Services.
- Works with school administrative staff and outside vendors to provide necessary data inquiry support.
- Adds new course offerings and verifies that they are coded and in line with DESE requirements.
- Creates support documentation and training for end users.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
