Job Description:
Optomi, in partnership with a leading financial services company, is seeking a Data Analyst to join their team.
**This position is hybrid in Rockville, MD 2X a week on-site**
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with SQL for querying databases and managing large datasets.
- Proficiency in Excel for data manipulation, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data visualization.
- Familiarity with Python for data processing and analysis.
- Understanding of core statistical concepts and methods.
- Ability to extract, clean, and transform data using SQL queries.
- Strong ability to break down complex data sets and identify trends, patterns, or outliers.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems through data-driven approaches.
- Ability to present complex findings in a simple and clear way, tailored to different audiences (executives, technical teams, stakeholders).
- Ability to write detailed, clear reports that summarize data analysis and recommendations.
- Experience working with different teams (marketing, finance, operations, etc.) to understand their data needs and deliver actionable insights.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, clean, and preprocess data from various internal and external sources.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness through data validation and quality checks.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and key insights.
- Perform statistical analysis and modeling to support business objectives.
- Create ad-hoc reports as needed by different departments (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Operations).
- Present analysis and key metrics to stakeholders, translating complex data into clear and actionable insights.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide actionable insights.
- Translate business questions into data-driven solutions and communicate findings in a non-technical manner to executives and non-technical stakeholders.
- Automate repetitive tasks and reporting processes to improve efficiency.
- Develop scripts or use software tools to streamline data collection and reporting.
