Job Description:
- Managing and overseeing operations of the accounting department.
- Ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense reports.
- Payroll Processing, Analysis, and total corporate payroll tax compliance.
- Oversee the activities of the accounts receivable department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, quarter and year-end payroll closing including federal and state reports.
- Ensures monthly sales tax compliance.
- Executing Month End Close and Preparing Financial Reporting Package
- Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
- Assure corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns.
- Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place to ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial reporting as well as the protection of company assets and business support.
- Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Establish, implement, manage, and monitor critical accounting and reporting processes and associated metrics. Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
- Drive necessary change and improvements for controlling costs and identify and champion continuous improvement opportunities and recommend action plans.
- Maintain accurate inventory evaluation summary report for all companies. Initiate internal inventory audit samples - prepare/assist with year-end inventory adjustments. Review/update current items: inventory, non-inventory, service, other charge. Perform inventory reconciliations and cost accounting activities as necessary.
- Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of tax filings and financial audits as necessary. Process and submit payroll tax returns for all companies. Prepare Annual forms for YE reporting for all companies: 1099's, W2, W3.
Job Requirements:
- Experience as an Accounting Manager
- Minimum of 5 years of experience
- Accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting
- Experience in the manufacturing or distribution industry
- Extensive knowledge of Quickbooks and Excel
- A proactive, hands-on strategic thinker who will own the responsibility for accounting and finance
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data
- Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Other Qualifications
- Accounting Degree required
