The Receiver at our luxury hotel/restaurant is responsible for managing the receipt, verification, and proper storage of all incoming shipments. This role ensures that all deliveries are accurate and meet the hotel's quality standards. The Receiver will work closely with various departments to maintain inventory levels and ensure that supplies and products are available as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect all incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and condition.
- Verify the quantity and quality of items received against purchase orders and delivery invoices.
- Maintain accurate records of all deliveries, including logging and filing paperwork.
- Ensure proper storage of received items in designated areas, adhering to food safety and storage guidelines.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to resolve any discrepancies or issues with deliveries.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation to prevent spoilage and waste.
- Work closely with the purchasing department to track back-ordered items and ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area and storage rooms.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and availability of supplies.
- Assist with the preparation of reports related to inventory and receiving activities.
- Follow all safety and security procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or inventory management role, preferably in a hotel or restaurant environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 pounds).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and inventory management software.
- Knowledge of food safety and storage regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
