JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the recruitment and admission of future students to the University through in-person and virtual presentations, community events, telephone and e-mail communication.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend in-person and virtual recruitment events to represent the university in the Atlanta Metropolitan area, as well as parts of North Carolina and South Carolina. (70%)
- Nurture relationships, through various communication channels, with students, parents, high school counselors, teachers, and administrators providing admissions advice and counsel relative to the recruitment and admissions processes. (10%)
- Build, manage and maintain a designated recruitment territory and strategic plan with the Executive Director of Admissions and Recruitment. (10%)
- Evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and make recommendations for program changes and enhancements. (5%)
- Other duties as assigned by leadership (5%)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Familiarity with higher education operations.
- Understanding of CRM best practices, support, and functionality
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and disseminate significant student prospect information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems, prioritize time according to tasks, initiate and implement projects independently.
- Strong public speaking skills
- Excellent customer service, attention to detail, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required.
- Working knowledge of CRM systems
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in related field required
- Must reside primarily in one of the following Georgia counties: Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, or Rockdale
- One year of professional experience in student advising, admissions, or demonstrated experience as a previous student leader on a college campus.
- Documented history of successfully driving projects to completion
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time over designated recruitment territory required. Frequent overnight travel required during peak seasons (Sept-Nov and Feb-March). Must report to FVSU campus at least two days each month
SCOPE OF WORK:
- The work consists of varied duties in directing the university's admissions functions. The variety of tasks to be managed contributes to the complexity of the position.
- The purpose of this position is to market the university to prospective students living in metro Atlanta and other important territories. Success in this position contributes to the success of university enrollment goals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The work is typically performed in an office.
- The work typically requires driving for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and assemble/disassemble display materials.
- September through May is the peak recruiting period; during this period, extensive travel and school visits will be required.
- May be required to work beyond regular work hours (evenings and weekends) as defined by the needs of the department.
