Summary
Job Description
The Manufacturing Process Engineer will evaluate and optimize existing manufacturing processes and recommend new methods to reduce cost, waste, and lead time while improving product quality in GLF & Shaped Charge. The engineer will work with management to discover inefficiencies and align business methods with financial goals.

Responsibilities
Evaluate and continuously improve manufacturing processes using Lean Six Sigma tools.
Design and implement special projects (capital equipment, flow, automation, support equipment).
Interact with vendors to meet quality standards and specifications.
Provide engineering support for troubleshooting and resolving technical problems in GLF and Shaped Charge production.
Act as the R&D point of contact for Germany, providing updates on new products and changes to existing products.
Update manufacturing routers and BOMs, ensuring accurate standard costs in the ERP system.
Prepare capital expenditure requests and manage approved projects.
Support the continuous improvement program through coaching, teaching, and mentoring.
Develop and improve organizational key performance indicators (KPIs) with department heads.
Improve manufacturing efficiency by planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods and establishing standards.
Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
Prepare product and process reports by collecting and analyzing data and trends.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops and professional societies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline required.
10+ years in quality and/or process engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience in a high-volume system assembly line environment.
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
Project Management skills, PMP certification preferred.
Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies including breakdown analysis/Root cause analysis, CAPA, and FMEA.
Experience in PLC, drive, robotics, and CNC programming preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and ERP/MRP systems.
Strong analytical skills for addressing BOM errors and variances.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a global, fast-paced cross-functional team.
Well-organized and proactive.
Project champion for new product implementation in GLF and Shaped Charge areas.
Working knowledge of explosives and explosive safety.
Ability to acquire ATF Certification (previous certification accepted).
Experience with hazardous materials handling a plus.
