PURPOSE:This is a key role for balancing and reconciling a growing list of over 10,000 customer accounts. The Accounting Assistant guides customers through using our online invoice platform and processes payments. This position requires strategic and often communication with both store and regional management, and with their customers, to maintain strong relationships while solving accounting concerns.

The clerk must recognize issues with customer payments and analyze variances/issues then discuss with customers as required; oversees online invoice and payment systems and works with customers to present on-line options, guiding customers through system use and helps them become acclimated and comfortable; solves issues as required; oversees past due accounts and when necessary communicates with customers to address unpaid invoices; when required, initiates collection letters and tracks responses to ensure payment is received. Monitors COD accounts after they are placed on COD, but maintains good relationships via warm, gracious interaction, especially when dealing with resistant or upset COD customers. This position handles misfiled or erroneous invoices, communicating with stores to solve issues related to invoicing while maintaining good relationships. This position is instrumental in maintaining good customer relations.

DUTIES:
- Build good relationships with NAPA employees and customers.
- Post payments to customer accounts.
- Reconcile past due statements.
- Enroll new customers in online Pro Link programs.
- Post deposits to daily cash journals.
- Maintain updated receivables.

- Capable of lifting and moving merchandise of up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to bend or stoop to floor-level shelves and be able to reach upper shelves with use of stool or ladder when necessary.
- Ability to sit for entire work shift.
- Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively.
