What's the role?
The Graphic Designer has a strong background in B2B and B2C marketing developing new design approaches and overseeing the day-to-day deliverables in the Shared Services Department for digital and offset printing, larger format printing, in-store branding, digital design, photography and video editing experience a plus.
The Graphic Designer will have broad design capabilities across print, large format printing, in-store branding, web, digital media, and trade shows and be a collaborative team player that shares our passion for service, quality work and an eye for detail.
The Graphic Designer should be adaptable in using their organizational skills to prioritize tasks in taking ownership of various projects. Have the urgency to anticipate busy schedules and teamwork to communicate with other members of the department to complete assignments on time and accurately.

Design Responsibilities: This position requires someone with a passion for design, watches trends, reads relevant blogs and design sites, well informed of new features in Adobe CS and Generative AI.
Needs to have strong concepting skills, superior layout design, illustration and excellent sense of typography and color.
Excellent design skills creating design concepts for brochures, sell sheets, catalogs, price lists, digital media, e-Blasts, banner ads, direct mail, social media ads (video a must), promotions, trade show graphics, packaging (with experience with printer die lines and structural engineering design drawings), PowerPoint presentations and other miscellaneous projects targeting North American markets
Skilled in video editing and photography a plus
Works closely with ZEISS Brand Guidelines and police's the Brand within the Marketing and Sales teams
Builds application files for print, high resolution print ready PDF's, PDF fillable forms and electronic media
Proofread all printer digital proofs and in-house revision mark ups (exceptional eye for detail)
Facilitates copy revisions, photo retouching and color correction
Review pre-press proofs and assist Creative Services Manager in press checks and quoting print materials
Assist Creative Services Manager with back-up support as necessary
Develop and maintain in-house library of all electronic, master files
Additional duties assigned as needed
Workflow Management:
Receive all job requests/creative briefs into online workflow system and create production schedules with the Creative Team
Manage project timelines/client feedback and completion dates with Creative Services Manager
Monitor projects through all phases of production
Communicate project status to internal clients on a daily basis
Ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget
Manage Print and Online Fulfillment Site:
Manage collateral inventory levels, identify items running low and collaborate with internal clients and Creative Services Manager to update/reprint as necessary
Forecast item usage rates and reprints
Manage files to print, fulfillment forms, kitting, quoting process, invoicing process, kit shipments, manage project mailing lists
Monitor receipt of outside shipments (provide part numbers, fulfillment information)
Web and Multi-media Design:
Web Development includes design and layout of ZEISS websites according to company specifications.
Web responsibilities include construct the overall look and feel of ZEISS websites, Digital Banner Ads (still and animated banners,) blog pages, and ZEISS Better Vision pages as needed
Create wireframes and storyboards for digital media
Experience with Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Content Management Systems (CMS) and Digital Marketing Design and Data Analytics a plus
Follows safety standards and reports any safety concerns to leadership.

Job Requirements
Do you qualify?
BA in Graphic Design or Associates degree in Creative or related field. 5-7 years of experience in Graphic Design field, project management in an advertising agency, marketing or corporate creative services department required. 5+ years of experience in Graphic Design field, project management in an advertising agency, marketing or corporate creative services department required
Experience in optical or similar medical/technical product category preferred
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Extensive graphic design skill sets a must with print, large format printing and digital media knowledge.
Specific experience with Adobe Creative Suite - InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects and Microsoft Office
Experience in video post-production editing (with Adobe Premiere & Adobe After Effects a plus)
Hands-on experience in video/photography in studio - (product shots and location shoots)
Experience in Social media channels with paid media
Proven ability to collaborate with shared services team to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget with a can-do attitude
Thorough working knowledge of marketing collateral production process from concept through print/digital completion required
Ability to build strong relationships with internal clients, external agencies, freelancers, and vendors
Ability to diplomatically enforce deadlines and solve problems in an efficient, professional manner
Proactive self-starter with excellent organization and communication skills with an exceptional eye for detail
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written, oral, and proofreading skills a must
Ability to travel.
Experience working in a multi-national brand company preferred
