Century Group has a great opportunity for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our client in the education industry. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary $100,000 to $125,000 per year.

Job Description:
  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
  • Manage full cycle AR for all billing and cash receipts for the school and PA
  • Prepare and oversee month and year-end close for financial reporting
  • Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, monthly budget reports and ad hoc reporting, as requested
  • Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions and processes
  • Partner with budget managers and stakeholders including, but not limited to provide accounting education to support budget managers, maintain strong employee relationships, and assist with timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end

Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Strong planning, organizational and time management skills, as well as attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.

Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • 5+ years of accounting and payroll experience required; non-profit sector preferred
  • 2-3 years hands on functional Payroll experience OR equivalent
  • Detailed knowledge of US Federal, State and local payroll tax laws
  • Strong working knowledge of ERISA, HIPPA, FMLA, Workers' Compensation, FLSA, and ADA
