Job Description
Under the direction of the Manager, this position is responsible for the design, development and administration of Corporate Facilities financial accounting matters. If applicable or appropriate, assists in business unit's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act. In addition, this position is responsible for demonstrating the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) philosophy by participating in and practicing ESS discipline and behaviors.
Responsibilities
•General Ledger: Responsible for preparing journal entries, financial statements, variance analysis reports and supporting schedules. Prepares biweekly cash receipt reconciliations and monthly journal entries. Analyzes and interprets financial data and lease agreements, troubleshoots outstanding financial matters with management, co-workers, tenants and landlords. Assists the Finance Supervisor in audit preparations and evaluating budget variance analyses to confirm financial reporting validity. Monitors trends, researches variances and presents the financial results to management.
•Real Estate: Works with the Corporate Real Estate team and cross-departmental members in the compilation of comprehensive records of BOH owned properties. Works closely with the Real Estate team to ensure rental payments are collected and paid accurately and applying payments to the Corporate Real Estate Department's sub-system. Processes and distributes appropriate rent, sales tax, operational expenses to corresponding tenants and landlords.
•Department Budget & Forecasts: Serves as a liaison between Corporate Real Estate & Facilities and BOH Accounting and Controllers departments ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements. Analyzes current processes to identify potential issues and improvement opportunities related to financial reporting. Proposes and executes solutions, strategies and tactics. Updates policies and procedures as needed.
•Construction In Progress (CIP): Oversees construction project status and budget tracking. Updates the necessary capitalization schedules ensuring projects are within budget and capitalized in a timely manner. Assists the Finance Supervisor with preparing month-end general ledger account reconciliations and necessary capitalization reports detailing Construction and FF&E expenses for the Project Team and Management review.
•Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in accounting, finance or related subject, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Level is dependent on years of experience and size/complexity of prior positions held. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in accounting and/or finance.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) or similar software. Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems including mainframe systems and accounting systems. Must have advanced spreadsheet and relational database proficiency and excellent report writing skills.
- Other Job Qualifications: Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Must be analytical, detail oriented, organized. Must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities. Ability to work in a team-based work environment with management, coworkers, tenants and landlords as well as independently. Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned. Must be able to provide own transportation or to operate a vehicle with a valid driver's license, and able to commute and arrive at intended destination in a timely manner and/or as required.
