Job Description
Machine/Plant Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery, including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with motors, perform preventative maintenance, and manage scheduled machine upgrades. This role is part of a team responsible for both production machinery upkeep and building and grounds maintenance
Split shift from 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
I. Job Description and Responsibilities:
Summary:
The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing, maintaining, and executing preventative maintenance programs for production equipment, systems, and facility structures, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and more. This role requires precise recordkeeping for maintenance, repairs, and installations. The technician will manage spare parts inventory and order replacements as needed. Safe work practices, adherence to quality standards, following schedules, and meeting company goals are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair production equipment, systems, and facility structures and document repairs.
- Perform and document preventative and scheduled maintenance on equipment and facilities according to established schedules.
- Assist contractors with repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Collaborate with engineers to develop, improve, and implement new or existing equipment and systems, focusing on Best Practices.
- Report any equipment, manufacturing, quality, or health and safety issues to the Production Engineer or Plant Manager immediately.
- Assist in troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis for equipment failures.
- Ensure that maintenance programs support lean manufacturing principles.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Suggest improvements to the Facility and Production Engineering Manager or Plant Manager.
- Manage spare parts and maintenance tool inventories.
- Ensure compliance with safety guidelines in all tasks.
- Maintain areas according to 5S standards.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
II. Special Requirements (Licenses, Certifications, Physical Requirements, etc.):
Qualifications and Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience servicing electro-mechanical automated/production equipment
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Leadership experience in Operator and Safety training.
- Significant experience using standard hand and power tools.
- Basic fabrication skills, such as measuring, cutting, and drilling plastics, metals, and wood.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Effective written, oral, and electronic communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP/CMMS software.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented LEAN environment
