Sentara Medical Group is looking to add a PA or NP to our team! Sentara Medical Group has an employment position available for an Advanced Practice Provider to join Sentara Neurosurgery Specialists at the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital location. Join an experienced team of 10 neurosurgeons and 12 Advanced Practice Providers who strongly value quality, collegiality, and teamwork. One year's experience in neurosurgery or neuro-critical care preferred.

Position Highlights:

  1. Rotating schedule to include occasional nights and weekends
  2. Nighttime and weekend differential
  3. Provide care for patients in a variety of settings including ED, NCCU, trauma, and medical floors
  4. Responsible for emergent bedside procedures
  5. Surgeries performed at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, a 543-bed tertiary care facility with Level 1 Trauma Center, Virginia Beach General Hospital, and Carplex Hospital
  6. Fully integrated EHR (Epic)

Job Summary

Qualifications:

  1. MLD - Master's Level Degree: Nurse Practitioner (Required)
  2. MLD - Master's Level Degree: Nurse Practitioner (Required)
  3. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI
  4. Authorization to Prescribe License - Certification - Other/National
  5. Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI
  6. Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Nursing License - Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP)
  7. Physician Assistant License (PA) - State License - Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP)
