Description

SUMMARY:

The Housekeeping staff is responsible for ensuring the facility is kept in a clean and orderly condition. He/she must process a basic understanding of cleaning techniques.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities, essential job functions, and other duties may be assigned as necessary by Supervisor and/or Management.

  • Shall take steps necessary to maintain and clean all assigned areas within the physical structure of the Casino, to include outside grounds, parking areas, casino floor space, public areas space and utility systems.
  • Shall use equipment and supplies as required to ensure cleanliness.
  • Must be knowledgeable and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, internal policies/procedures and internal controls of the Casino and Facilities department.
  • Shall act with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the entertainment culture.
  • Shall maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the Casino operating to standard and to set a positive example for other employees.
  • Anticipates the Casino's needs by constantly evaluating the environment and other team members for cues. Communicates information to the Manager on Duty (MOD), the Director of the Department Supervisor and/or Lead as necessary.
  • May assist with new employee training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
  • Shall contribute to a positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in employee morale and performance and communicating necessary information to the MOD, the Director of the Department or Supervisor.
  • Shall deliver remarkable Customer Service to all guests and employees using a great attitude and interactive personal skills.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned by management.
  • Follow complex instructions and ability to perform assigned tasks under limited supervision.
  • See problems and avoid situations that could be deemed illegal or represent a safety hazard to fellow Team Members or customers.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Should have knowledge of or capability to learn to operate safely the housekeeping equipment, and cleaning products which may contain chemicals.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
  • Meet the Facility Departments operating policies and procedures, including providing quality cleaning and customer service with safety as a priority with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be available to perform many different tasks within the Casino during each shift


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prefer 6 months of previous experience cleaning a facility and/or maintenance work.
  • The ability to read English and understand either written or verbal instructions.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to quickly learn policies and procedures put forth by Casino Management.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed from fellow Team Members, Supervisors, and/or Management
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team or alone productively
  • Ability to build relationships
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret simple documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Be able to read and understand on-going casino promotions and be able to explain promotions to customers if asked.
