At Indiana Donor Network, our mission is saving and enhancing the quality of life through organ, tissue and eye donation and transplantation. As a Family Advocate you will serve as a liaison between the donor family, procurement coordinator, and hospital clinicians.
You'll be responsible for initiating donation conversations with families of potential donors, responding to referrals from local hospitals to collect and communicate data, and evaluated referrals called in by hospital staff. You'll be given the opportunity to facilitate in the donation process and support donor families, as needed. This is a night shift position with a rotating schedule including 3 12-hour shifts one week and 4 the next. It covers a large geographic territory located primarily in central and northern Indiana. Weekend shifts are required.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree, or relevant education and experience in a social services, clinical or related field. Experience in social work, medical social work, nursing and/or respiratory therapy would be helpful. Previous experience/certification in crisis intervention, grief/loss, healthcare, donation/transplantation is preferred.
