Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume) PhD (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math or a closely related field. Preferred Qualifications: Strong background in signal processing, acoustics, machine learning, and mathematics in general. Experience with underwater acoustics, array signal processing, and working with experimental data. Programming skills (e.g. Java, Python, Matlab, etc.). Brief Description of Duties: The Postdoctoral Associate will assist a Principal Investigator Andrew Singer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and graduate student research collaborators. The incumbent will conduct research on the application of machine learning methods to problems in array signal processing for both room acoustics and underwater acoustic environments. These will include application of physics-informed neural networks (PINNs), generative posteriors via diffusion modeling, and Neural Radiance Fields to problems in acoustic signal processing systems. The successful candidate will gain experience in proposal writing as well as mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. The Postdoctoral Associate is responsible for Development and analysis of machine learning models and algorithms. Testing algorithms on synthesized and real data. Assisting in writing proposals. Participation in writing journal and conference papers. Mentoring PhD and undergraduate students. Other duties as assigned.
