Shop Foreman

Candidate must be reliable, self motivated, detail oriented, able to deliver fabrication projects within project and customer schedules.

Candidate must have at least 5 to 10 years experience in structural steel and/or aluminum fabrication with 1-2 years foreman experience.

This is a full-time position with competitive pay, based on experience, and immediate work within our shop in Portsmouth, Va.

This is a working position with the responsibility of organizing, directing and training employees in all aspects of the fabrication process in a production environment.

The shop foreman is also responsible for recognizing safety and health hazards and have the ability to take immediate action to prevent employee accidents.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate and organize subordinates daily to maintain or increase production and quality.

Solve issues and motivate employees with critical thinking and time management, while demonstrating good communication skills with all levels of the organization.

Inspect raw and fabricated material before, during and after fabrication for adherence to blueprint specification and quality standards.

Enforce company policies and safety regulations to subordinates.

Train junior employees in all aspects of the fabrication process, safety and quality.

EXPERIENCE:

Combined 5 to 10 years in structural steel and aluminum fabrication.

Ability to read blueprints.

2 years experience in a lead position.

3 years experience in FCAW, GMAW, GTAW.

Famliar with OSHA standards
