As an Accounting Clerk at SSFM International, Inc., you will be a crucial member of our financial and administrative team, reporting to the Controller. Your role is essential in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization. We are seeking a candidate with a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to execute accounting tasks accurately in an engineering-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Prepare and process payable invoices, including invoices, cash disbursement journals, transaction and posting journals, and general ledger account analysis reports, subject to review by the Controller/Senior Accountant.

  • Deadline Management: Ensure the organization meets recurring accounting deadlines to support the efficiency of financial operations.

  • Accounting Period Compliance: Accurately input accounting activities within their respective accounting periods, adhering to accounting standards.

  • Verification: Verify the accuracy of invoices and project/phase/task coding received from Project Managers to maintain clean financial records.

  • Expense Reimbursement: Verify employee expense reimbursement requests, ensuring proper project coding and obtaining necessary supervisor or project manager approval before processing payments.

  • Data Entry: Enter financial data into the Deltek Vantagepoint application with precision and attention to detail.

  • Payment Validation: Ensure that all payments are supported by approved invoices and paid by their designated due dates.

  • Credit Card Charges: Verify that all credit card charges are supported by invoices or receipts from company credit cardholders.

  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, including scanning, e-filing, and mailing, to ensure the efficiency of the Finance Office.

  • Storage Management: Track and manage items in the Finance Office storage to maintain organization and accessibility.

  • Document Preparation: Assist in preparing reports, memos, correspondence, and other documents using various source materials, including handwritten drafts and electronic files.

  • Accounting Report Distribution: Prepare and distribute accounting reports to designated individuals as directed.

  • Other Duties: Fulfill other assigned tasks to support the overall finance and administrative functions.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma; a Bachelor's degree in Accounting is not required, but 1-2 years of accounting experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook software programs.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with computerized accounting software programs.
  • Proficiency in 10-key typing.
