General Summary: Performs electronic and mechanical assembly of components, parts, and modules in complex assemblies, sub-assemblies, and systems. Ability to perform complex rework and assembly on PWA/PCBs that consist of both through-hole and SMD components. Engages in setting up and operating the automated SMT process equipment used in PCBA manufacturing. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Performs complex electro-mechanical assembly involving wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units. Works to specified tolerances from prints, wire lists, parts lists, engineering schematics/instructions and engineering change orders. Performs complex rework on PWA/PCBs for both through-hole and SMD components. Ensures that final assemblies conform to engineering specifications and quality standards, and that assembly methods and sequence of operations follow approved manufacturing processes and assembly protocols. Prepares and maintains assembly documentation such as product serialization logs, traceability records and performance metrics for review by the quality control/inspection team. Collaborates with Quality Assurance in the labeling of all products with required serialization and traceability markings and other forms of product identification. Must have the ability to run reflow ovens, BGA rework station, solder paste printer, and most importantly the ability to run SMT pick and place machines. Manually install components that cannot be placed by PandP machine. Performs visual quality inspection of PCB assembly. Performs basic machine troubleshooting and routine preventive maintenance on SMT machines. Identify issues and opportunity for improvement. Job Specifications: Electronic and mechanical assembly skills and technical knowledge acquired by eight or more years experience with assembly operations in high technology environments. Should have Electronic Assembly Certification and Cable and Harnessing Certification. Must be U.S. Citizen/U.S. Person.
