Job Title: CT Technologist Job Specialty: MSW Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3-day work week; Friday 8am-4pm, Saturday and Sunday 12am-4pm Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week Experience: Minimum of 1 year of CT experience License: Licensing with NYS DOH as a Radiologic Technologist Certifications: ARRT certification in Radiography and CT, BLS certification Must-Have: - ARRT Certification - Calibration - Documentation - Quality Assurance Job Description: - Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images. - Perform daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper calibration and functionality before any patient study. - Inject patients with radioactive material following the prescribed protocols and physician's orders. - Adhere to department documentation policies by completing all necessary logs and charge documents, and reporting equipment issues. - Conduct quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests, following radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle. - Maintain, develop, and retrieve patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation. - Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses 1 day prior to use. - Receive radiopharmaceuticals on the day of delivery and verify proper receipt and activity level according to policy before administration. - Perform CT procedures according to prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy. - Exercise appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patients' needs before, during, and after visits to the Radiology department. Languages: Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English.
