Job Title: CT Technologist Job Specialty: PET CT Technologist Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm (5x7.50 Hr) Guaranteed Hours: 37.50 Experience: At least 1 year of CT experience License: Licensing with NYS DOH in Radiologic Technologist Certifications: ARRT certification in Radiography and CT, BLS certification Must-Have: - ARRT Certification - Calibration skills - Documentation skills - Quality assurance proficiency - Radiation safety knowledge Job Description: - Requires the utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images. - Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure it is calibrated and functioning properly before performing any patient study. - Administers radioactive material to patients as per the physician's order following the prescribed protocol. - Completes all department documentation by filling in the appropriate logs, manuals, and charge documents, as well as reporting equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies. - Conducts quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests, adhering to radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle. - Maintains, develops, and retrieves patient films and electronic data for radiologist interpretation. - Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use. - Receives radiopharmaceutical deliveries and verifies proper receipt according to policy and procedure. Verifies the activity level of the dose before administration. - Performs CT procedures according to the prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy. - Exercises appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patients' needs before, during, and after visits to the Radiology department.
