Job Title: Cath Lab Technician Job Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (07:00 - 17:30), 40 hours weekly Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: 2 years minimum experience required; will accept 1 year with previous Cath Lab experience (Scrub/Circulate) License: State License - Maryland, compact license or MD license required at time of submission Certifications: - Required: AART or RCIS License, ACLS, BLS - Preferred: RCIS, ARRT Advanced Certification Must-Have: - Positive references from previous employer - Willing to work every other weekend - Flu vaccine (required, no exemptions) Job Description: - First timers accepted with positive references - Skills required: - Cardiac Stent Placement - Left and Right Heart Catheterization - Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) - Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA) - Cardiac Ablation - Thrombolysis/Thrombectomy - Accurate monitoring - Room circulator - Scrub - maintain sterile field - Cerner - Coil Embolization - Rotablade - SWAN-GANZ - Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) - Float required: Cath Lab and IR as a scrub, circulator, and monitor tech; EP skills preferred but not required - On-call requirements: 10 shifts per month with weekend rotation as necessary - Skills preferred: Venous Access, Hemo Dynamic Monitoring, PEs, Biopsies - Special procedures/unit details: - Right & Left Heart Catheterization (R & LHC) - Primary PCI - Vascular/Peripheral Angiography - EP Studies - Permanent Pacemaker Implants (PPM) - Ablations - IABP - SWAN-GANZ - Coronary Lithotripsy - Coronary Microvascular Disease Diagnostics - Biopsies (tissue/bone/fluid) - Paracentesis/Thoracentesis - Port Placements - Gastrojejunostomy (GJ) Tubes - Nephrostomy Tubes - Scrubs provided - Documentation Systems: MacLab/CardioLab - Average Daily Census: 15-20 - Rooms: 4 - Orientation: 28 hours Note: Modules are required and billable up to 4 hours; any additional hours for modules are non-billable. Average modules take 12 hours to complete and are recorded via transcripts.
