Fusion Coolant Systems
Field Services Engineer
Fusion Coolant Systems, Michigan, United States
Job Overview: We are seeking a versatile and skilled CO2 Product and Installation Support Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying electrical and mechanical support to improve our CO2 systems products, install them, and maintain uptime. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical installation, electrical engineering, and panel design, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. This position requires expertise in design elements such as CAD, prints, and other technical specifications, as well as a willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Responsibilities: Install CO2 Systems: mechanical systems and equipment, piping/plumbing, and industrial machinery, according to engineering drawings, specifications, and safety standards. Electrical Panels and Systems: Design and integrate electrical control panels and systems with mechanical equipment, including motor controls, PLCs, HMIs, and sensors using CAD software. Select appropriate electrical components, such as relays, circuit breakers, switches, and connectors, based on system requirements and specifications. Electrical Design: Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts to guide panel fabrication and installation. Panel Assembly: Assemble and wire electrical panels and control cabinets following wiring diagrams and electrical codes to ensure proper functionality and safety. System Programming: Program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces) to control and monitor mechanical systems, and implement safety interlocks and alarms. Mechanical Components: Perform layout, assembly, and installation of mechanical components such as pumps, motors, valves, and actuators using hand and power tools. Piping Systems: Fabricate and install piping systems, ductwork, and structural supports for mechanical equipment, ensuring proper alignment, fit, and function. Conduct testing and commissioning of integrated mechanical and electrical systems to verify functionality, performance, and compliance with customer requirements. Provide training and technical support to operators and maintenance personnel on the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of installed systems. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field; additional vocational training or certification in electrical systems or panel design is preferred. Proven experience in mechanical systems installation, plumbing, and industrial machinery, with a focus on precision assembly and alignment. Strong understanding of electrical systems, including wiring, circuit design, and panel fabrication, as well as familiarity with electrical codes and standards. Proficiency in CAD software for electrical panel design, layout, and schematics creation (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN). Experience with electrical panel fabrication techniques, including drilling, cutting, wiring, and labeling. Knowledge of industrial control systems, including PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications to guide installation and integration activities. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues independently. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, with a focus on delivering high-quality installations and solutions. Equal Opportunity Statement: This job description outlines the key responsibilities and requirements for the Mechanical Systems Installer position with Electrical and Panel Design Engineering Capabilities. Candidates who possess the necessary technical expertise, hands-on experience, and teamwork skills are encouraged to apply to join our installation team.
