Systems Engineer – National Team (Senior or Senior Lead)Company:The Boeing CompanyJob ID:00000440045Date Posted:2024-12-17Location:USA - Colorado Springs, CO, USA - Huntsville, ALJob Description Qualifications:Boeing’s Missile Defense National Team is seeking motivated and talented Systems Engineers in Colorado Springs, Colorado!Missile Defense programs are part of the Ballistic Missile Defense System which defends the United States homeland and its regional allies all over the world.  Be a part of our passionate and highly-motivated team who are excited to be on the forefront of defense of our nation.Come Join Us and Build the Future!Primary Responsibilities:Team member will work with other industry partners in the development and execution of a comprehensive assessment program supporting the C2BMC Element of the Ballistic Missile Defense System.Evaluate systems under various scenarios and architectures to determine and/or optimize overall system mission performance in a framework giving insight into performance that may be employed by Missile Defense Agency and WarfightersDevelop and maintain analysis tools of varied fidelity including modeling and simulation tools to predict performance against evolving threats of current and future missile defense systemsLeads various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architectureDevelops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processesDefines, schedules, assigns, and executes tasks, and monitors completion to lead the monitoring of integration and checkout activities, receiving and evaluating of results of activities, and approving/disapproving of each by determining whether results meet the checkout requirements, so that integration activities can proceedServing as a subject matter expert for integration and test domains, system engineering system performance/ domains, system-specific issues, processes, tools, and regulationsLead efforts to solve complex missile defense problemsUtilization of MBSE tools such as DOORS, System Architect and mathematical modeling and simulation to provide thought leadership and lead trade studies in assigned areasRequirements and architecture development in support of MDS systemsDrive the system engineering integration and test or system analysis approachDevelop, select, tailor and deploy integration and test processes, tools and metricsExecute and document integration and test activities and eventsDevelop, define efficiencies and improvements to tools to improve team productivityPerform system analysis trade studies to define technical concepts and solutionsThis position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Colorado Springs, CO., Schriever SFB, Huntsville, AL.) This position may require the ability to obtain access to an MDA facility. Access to the facility requires a background investigation by U.S. government authorities.This position requires candidate acceptance by industry partner resource control boardThis position requires anactive Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer scienceExperience using analytical, collaboration, communication and organizational skillsMinimum of 5 years of experience in system engineering (e.g. Systems, Design, Architecture, Integration, Requirements or Test)Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to obtain a Top Secret clearance or an active Top Secret clearance highly desiredDesired: DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)Must possess understanding of DoD and missile defense command and control, battle management, architectures and communications system concepts, mission, and common system test and data analysis techniques.Experience with verification of requirementsMust have an understanding of System Engineering and iterative product development using Agile practices.Experience in developing capability assessments, assessment objectives and related assessment plans and procedures.Experience in scripting and automated test development is a plus.This position requires exposure to a broad range of personnel within MDA and its associated sub-elements.Experience using MATLAB, Python, JAVA, or similar language environment to develop analytical tools or perform numerical modeling of complex systemsDemonstrated experience performing systems analysis or performance analysis including system concept trade studies, operational analysis, requirements analysis, feasibility analysis, system performance measures of effectiveness analysis (incl. technical performance measures), discrimination methods and techniques definition, probability analysis, or vehicle analysisDemonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense elements or systems in similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic targets, intercept of non-ballistic targets, space vehicles, sub-orbital mechanics, etc.)Experience with Agile Development processes is a plusTypical Education/Experience:Senior (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Lead (Level 5): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
