Job DescriptionThe Civil Field Engineer is responsible to the CSA Lead Field Engineer and Project Field Engineer forensuring the quality of all civil and architectural construction work on the project.Duties and Responsibilities:• Perform Constructability Reviews on the project• Utilize project automation tools• Design temporary construction facilities as required• Implement project Construction Quality Control requirements including inspection and testing of in-process and completed installations• Provides technical assistance to the Civil Superintendent and Area Superintendent andkeeps them informed on matters relating to civil, structural and architectural work.• Communicates with Design Engineering to understand design requirements and resolve field problems.• Performs quantity take-offs from design drawings as required and provides input into the project quantity tracking system.• Prepare field design changes for the project• Reviews the project schedules. Working with the Civil and Area Superintendents, developsweekly work schedules as required.• Inspects civil, structural and/or architectural work in progress and prepares appropriate inspection records.• Witnesses tests and completes final test acceptance records before system turnover.• Assists the Civil Superintendent and Area Superintendent in resolving construction issues.• Verifies/reports installed civil, structural, and architectural quantities weekly.• Prepares material requisitions for testing equipment, field-procured materials, and temporaryconstruction materials required for the project.• Monitors the status of material deliveries by maintaining open dialogue with suppliers and fabricators.• Assists Area Superintendent on CSA related problems to obtain vendor information, substitutions, and other design-related issues.• Coordinates as-built information for civil and architectural installations as required by the contract, specifications, or project procedures.• Determines the scope of any installations not shown on the design drawings, such as temporaryreinforcing bar supports.• Monitors and expedites off-site material fabrication to coordinate the proper flow of material to the site.• Develops punch lists and work lists of to-go work for use in completing the Civil and Architectural installations.• Perform system/area turnovers including preparation of applicable as built documents and inspection records required by the contractNotice to Candidates:Background checks are carried out as part of any conditional offer made, including (but not limited to & role dependent) education, professional registration, employment, references, passport verifications and Global Watchlist screening.To be Considered Candidates:Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.Basic Job Requirements• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and fourteen (14) years of work-related experience; a recognized certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective mannerOther Job Requirements• Ability to provide proof of US citizenship• Ability to obtain and maintain a "Q" Clearance• Provide input to project controls regarding progress measurement and quantity surveys• Provide feedback to Contracts department on subcontractors claims to progress• The ability to read and comprehend construction drawings and specifications is required.• Recent experience as a Civil Field Engineer on a large scale NNSA/DOE/DOD/Commercial nuclear EPC project is preferred.• Familiarity with nuclear quality (e.g. NQA-1) and commercial quality practice standards is preferred.• Candidates should be self-starters, highly motivated, requiring minimal supervision, and able to work well in a team environment.Preferred Qualifications• Familiarity with nuclear quality (e.g. NQA-1) and commercial quality practice standards • Construction Management degree or global equivalent• Recent experience as a Civil Field Engineer on a large scale NNSA/DOE/DOD/Commercial nuclear EPC project • Typically has twelve (12) years of field project experience• Commensurate skills for an assignment to a project with a value between US$500 million and US$1 billion or global equivalent• Advanced computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the advanced use of spreadsheets and electronic presentationsSalary Range118,500 to 213,500 Market RateThe market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.BenefitsFluor is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to promote employee health, wellness, and financial security.
