While initially centered on property management activities, our client's long-term strategy includes developing an investment platform for properties where we have capital investment or operational control. This role offers significant growth potential, with the ideal candidate being strongly considered for a CEO position within two years. Their vision over the next five years includes expansion through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions. Recently, they acquired a third-party property management firm managing approximately 5,000 units. With a dedicated team of over 100 professionals, they provide comprehensive services, including property management, asset optimization, and strategic growth initiatives. Their commitment is to create vibrant living spaces and deliver exceptional tenant experiences. Job Summary: As Executive Vice President, you will lead the strategic vision and operational execution of a dynamic property management company. This role drives operational excellence across a diverse property portfolio, inspires a high-performing team, and fosters tenant satisfaction and financial success. A core focus of the position is assisting the CEO in M&A initiatives, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration while collaborating with stakeholders to shape the future of multifamily property management in a competitive and evolving market. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Team Development Provide visionary leadership to property management teams across multiple regions, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Oversee HR initiatives to retain and develop top talent, including recruiting, training, performance management, and compensation strategies. Promote cross-functional collaboration to enhance communication and operational efficiency across departments. Act as a mentor to key leaders, driving accountability and alignment with strategic goals. Operational Excellence Ensure properties are well-maintained, compliant, and optimized for tenant satisfaction and financial performance. Develop and implement standardized operational processes for property maintenance, leasing, and tenant services. Supervise capital improvement projects, vendor contracts, and preventative maintenance programs. M&A and Strategic Growth Lead M&A efforts, including due diligence, operational assessments, and integration of acquired assets. Analyze financial and operational data to identify risks and opportunities during acquisitions. Develop and implement post-acquisition plans to ensure seamless integration and operational continuity. Financial and Strategic Oversight Oversee the preparation and management of property-level budgets and corporate financial reports. Provide financial analysis and reporting to stakeholders, including owners and investors. Act as a liaison between investment teams and property management, aligning operations with business objectives. Qualifications and Experience: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, real estate, or a related field is required; an MBA is preferred. 15 years of executive leadership experience in property management, including expertise in M&A and integrations. Proven success in managing diverse property portfolios and high-performance teams. Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to lead complex organizational transformations and cultural integrations. Experience developing and implementing scalable processes in a growing organization. A real estate license is required, and if not currently held, attained within 6 months of employment, CPM (Certified Property Manager) or RPA (Real Property Administrator) certification is preferred. Strong ability to manage complex transitions and standardize processes. Demonstrated track record of achieving tenant satisfaction, operational excellence, and financial success. Expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and budget management. Regional and overnight travel is required to support acquisitions, integrations, and operations.
