The College of Liberal Arts Dean’s Office at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a dynamic, innovative, and experienced leader to serve as the Associate Dean of the college. The Associate Dean of Research & Graduate Affairs within the College of Liberal Arts is a member of the College senior leadership team and works with the Dean in setting policy and practices related to matters of research and innovation, graduate programs, and inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility within the college. This position will play a key role in shaping and advancing the college’s research agenda in alignment with the university and college strategic goals and will have oversight over all aspects of the college’s research enterprise to raise our R1 ranking and move the college forward in achieving the Association of American Universities metrics. The position will develop the college’s research infrastructure, including a focus on graduate programs, support faculty and graduate student research, fostering a culture of equity and inclusion, and strengthen graduate programs to align with the college’s mission and values. This is a 12-month, Administrative Faculty A position with a faculty appointment in a CLA department. Working hours are typically 8-5pm, Monday through Friday. Related Experience: Academic administrative leadership experience, chairing a department for one to two terms, an established research record in the applicant’s discipline, familiarity with accessing external funding in the liberal arts college-level teaching experience; currently tenured Preferred Qualifications Experience in fostering interdisciplinary research and developing partnerships with external organizations. Proven track record in supporting faculty development and graduate student success. Compensation Administrative Faculty – E Salary is competitive and commensurate with related education and experience.
