Our client, a community-focused, multi-disciplinary civil engineering firm in Northern Virginia , is looking for a motivated Project Engineer, Roadway/Highway Design to join their expanding transportation team. This role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of projects, including large-scale residential developments, vibrant mixed-use commercial spaces, educational campuses, and essential transportation designs. Key Responsibilities Design and prepare technical documents using Bentley’s MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer software. Assist project managers and senior team members throughout all project phases. Help develop and produce projects from initial concept through construction administration. Develop design efficiencies using AutoCAD and MicroStation OpenRoads software. Contribute to the design of roadway and trail systems, including geometry, vertical alignments, traffic management, and signage & pavement marking plans. Create erosion and sediment control plans that comply with state regulations. Stay current with local, state, and federal design standards to ensure regulatory compliance. Preferred Qualifications 1 years of experience in roadway, highway, or transportation design engineering. A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field. Currently pursuing or in possession of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification. Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation is a plus.
