Heating Air Conditioning Technician

Position : HVAC Technician Location : Rockford, IL Pay : $21-$34/hr depending on experience. Summary: The HVAC Technician performs maintenance and repairs to all HVAC equipment. Responsibilities: Perform electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration repairs to HVAC and related equipment with minimal supervision Troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, and other types of control systems Maintain boilers, heating systems, and associated equipment Install new equipment and relocate existing equipment as required Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to identify required work so repairs can be scheduled during other than high demand times and/or minimal interruption to production requirements Properly fill out Maintenance Work Requests to ensure accurate records of work performed on all equipment Keep work areas clean and safe from hazardous conditions Qualifications & Experience: 3 to 7 years of experience in a similar field Must have experience with electrical 3 phase, 480 voltage Ability to understand and apply electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration drawings, schematics, and manuals Ability to diagnose and repair air handler chiller units and air conditioning units Ability to use basic electrical test equipment Demonstrated proficiency with all types of refrigeration tests and service equipment Proficient with all types of hand tools Proficient with brazing and soldering Ability to communicate effectively and function as a team member Must be able to work safely at heights and properly use all required safety equipment Must attend company-sponsored training courses as required Must be willing to work overtime as required Education: High school education (or GED) CFC certified Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds at times.
