Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician

Position Summary: As a HVAC/R service technician, you will perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance tasks on commercial and light industrial HVAC equipment. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Perform assigned HVAC/R maintenance and troubleshooting task safely in commercial and industrial settings Perform preventative maintenance and repair of commercial HVAC equipment as needed Diagnose causes of breakdowns, test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components. Service, diagnose and troubleshoot a variety of refrigeration equipment such as coolers, reach in coolers, walk-in boxes, cooler display cases, and ice machines Service, diagnose and troubleshoot various types of split systems, packaged rooftop, rooftop units, heat pumps, DX systems, pneumatic, electrical control systems, and other mechanical equipment Diagnose causes of breakdowns, test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components. Use your HVAC/R skills and experience to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain medium to large sized complex heating, cooling and refrigeration systems and associated control systems Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, gathering material, and coordinating on-site work with customer and dispatcher Complete required electronic documentation daily on a handheld device Work independently, and as part of a team, to complete assigned tasks within an allotted time frame Operate company vehicle to complete service calls in a specified territory Perform other related duties or special projects, as assigned Education, Training, Licenses and/or Certifications: 3/5 years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial and/or industrial HVAC/R equipment Experience servicing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting a variety of refrigeration equipment such as coolers, reach in coolers, walk-in boxes, cooler display cases, and ice machines EPA universal certification High school diploma or equivalent OSHA 10 hour preferred Additional Requirements: Maintain a positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude Requires mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills. Proficiency with electrical and mechanical diagnostics Familiarity with blueprint, schematic, drawings, and other equipment layout materials Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening Ability to pass MVR check Ability to travel, as needed, for projects
