If you share our determination to drive the transition to a low-carbon future, then this could be the job for you. We are currently seeking a Subsea Systems Engineer reporting directly to the Delivery Manager, to join our team based in Houston, Texas.

Purpose:

The Subsea Systems Engineer is the leader of the project/study, and is the main contact on technical and commercial matters and actions related to the project/study. This role is responsible for managing the safe and efficient execution of assigned projects or studies, and supports and leads proposals as required. The Subsea Systems Engineer also ensures compliance with project/study contractual obligations, meeting Client and Company safety and quality and technical requirements within the established budget and schedule constraints.

Scope: Responsible for delivery of projects within budget and as per quality standards

Role Responsibility:
  • Responsible for successful study / project execution and management of change; Responsible for ensuring purchase orders and variation orders are in place to cover all work completed for the Client
  • Identification of future opportunities with current client; Build Client relationships and improve Clients' understanding of drivers and challenges
  • Support Delivery Manager & BD Manager with Business Development campaigns to grow and diversify our market footprint and Client base; Awareness of competitor's capabilities
  • Responsible for proposal preparation and delivery
  • Working with the operational teams (consultants, engineers, and drafter/designer), responsible for ensuring agreed project Gross Profit targets are met on assigned projects/studies
  • Deliver projects in compliance with internal and/or Client processes; accountable for the quality of the service, assessed by Client feedback forms.
  • Responsible for the Project profitability executed as per proposal
  • Collaborates closely with Delivery Manager & Local Resource Planner on mobilisation and demobilisation requirements to maximise utilisation
  • Liaise with Local Resource Planner and/or cost controller for forecast update regarding ongoing projects; Responsible for project monthly reporting
  • Provide leadership and Line Reporting to a team of Consultants and Engineers, ensuring strong engagement and motivation of the team, focused on results
  • Collaborates closely with P&C teams and Local Resource Planner to ensure a proactive approach to development and retention of talent within their team
  • Global collaboration to ensure continuous improvement and simplification of processes and tools, with focus on digitalization
  • Communicates project deliverables and recommendations written and oral presentations and technical reports
  • Will work in a multidisciplinary study/project environment where communication with other discipline engineers and organizational management is key to success
  • In some instances, may be assigned to other engineering projects based on her/his specific competencies and skills.
  • Supports knowledge capture by developing/improving subsea engineering tools and processes
  • Supports promoting the team both internally and externally
  • Supports cost and schedule estimates to for decision support packages
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science with a Degree in Mechanical, Subsea or Ocean Engineering with a minimum of 12 years of experience
  • Good communication and organization skills and working knowledge of Microsoft applications is essential.
  • Experience in subsea engineering supporting concept and front-end engineering studies.
  • Good understanding of subsea production systems (equipment, umbilicals, risers, flowlines, and controls).
