Absolute Staffing is searching for a Training Development Specialist to work with our client:

Project: The Integrated Vocational Engagement & Support Team (InVEST) Project

Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced Training Development Specialist to design and implement a comprehensive training program specifically for individuals with disabilities. This position requires expertise in accessible curriculum design, a deep understanding of the diverse needs of people with disabilities, and the ability to create and deliver tailored training that supports skill development, job readiness, and employment opportunities. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that all training content is inclusive, adaptive, and effective for job seekers with a range of disabilities.

The Training Development Specialist will report to the Associate Director of Business Services and work closely with the training department to ensure alignment with organizational branding and messaging.

Position Type:
  • Full Time, hourly
  • Temporary position: 9 month contract; possibility of extension
  • Hybrid role after training is completed
Hourly Rate:
  • $25.00/hour

Job Responsibilities:
Training Plan Development
  • Develop a customized training plan for individuals with disabilities, ensuring relevance, accessibility, and empowerment.
  • Design modules focused on employability skills like resume writing, interview preparation, workplace communication, and time management.
  • Ensure training content is accessible, using alternative formats and assistive technologies.
  • Collaborate with experts to tailor the program to meet diverse needs.
Training Material Design and Customization
  • Create accessible instructional materials, including eLearning modules and exercises.
  • Develop personalized learning plans tailored to individual strengths and challenges.
  • Incorporate practical scenarios for hands-on experience.
Facilitating and Delivering Training
  • Lead inclusive and adaptive in-person and virtual sessions.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching to address participant challenges.
  • Implement feedback mechanisms to refine training approaches.
Continuous Evaluation and Improvement
  • Monitor participant progress and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Collect feedback to identify gaps and enhance outcomes.
  • Track and report participant successes and areas for growth.
Collaboration and Support
  • Work with internal teams and community partners to connect participants with job placement and support services.
  • Provide recommendations for workplace accommodations to ensure successful transitions to employment.
  • Stay informed about policies and tools related to disability inclusion and workforce development.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Disability Studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in creating and delivering accessible training for individuals with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of disabilities and associated training/support needs.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and accessibility best practices.
  • Proficiency in creating inclusive materials and using assistive technologies.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

This is a temporary role focused on supporting the InVEST Project's training needs. Flexibility and a collaborative mindset are essential for success.
