Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

The Anduril Imaging team develops state-of-the-art imaging systems, deployed to tackle the most significant security challenges of America and its allies. Our hemispherical infra-red system, WISP, is deployed for detection and tracking of objects in the air, on land and on the sea. We are also in process of developing new imaging sensors based off our core focal plane technology.

As a Perception Engineer, you will be responsible for developing real-time computer vision software solutions for sensors with advanced imaging capabilities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about computer vision, image processing, and artificial intelligence and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design perception algorithms for challenging real-world applications, and implement them in robust, efficient, and well-tested C++ code.
  • Implement and integrate both novel and well-established image processing, feature extraction, detection, and classification techniques on streaming imagery.
  • Collaborate closely with other experts on the team, including perception, tracking & estimation, and systems engineers, to deliver cutting-edge, integrated imaging systems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong technical background. BS, MS or PhD, or equivalent work experience, with 2+ years of academic or industry experience in designing and implementing perception algorithms.
  • Experience in C++ and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Computer Vision experience. You are comfortable working with pixels, low-level statistical features and filter responses, and higher-level representations (feature descriptors, embeddings). You have implemented algorithms (statistical, ML, DL) enabling applications such as object detection, tracking, and classification, scene segmentation, VIO/SLAM.
  • A team player. You take ownership and work with the team to deliver exceptional results. You are interested in the performance of the entire system across engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to build and iterate quickly. You enjoy working fast and smart, and you are comfortable in the earlier stages of developing an algorithm from scratch.
