Position Overview:
Cragun's Resort is seeking an energetic and results-driven Sales Manager to join our team. This position focuses on securing and managing group business with an emphasis on association, government, and corporate segments. The Sales Manager will work closely with the Director of Sales to meet revenue goals, build strong client relationships, and ensure smooth transitions of contracts to the Planning Department after bookings are confirmed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Execution
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales to develop and implement strategies for achieving group sales goals, focusing on association, government, and corporate meetings.
- Actively prospect and target new business opportunities, including reaching out to potential clients.
- Respond to inquiries, provide resort information, conduct site tours, and create tailored proposals for group bookings.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to secure bookings while ensuring profitability.
- Close sales, consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and objectives.
- Client Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, event planners, and decision-makers.
- Offer personalized service and support throughout the sales process, ensuring all client needs are addressed.
- After securing contracts, ensure all details are handed off smoothly to the Planning Department to ensure flawless execution.
- Follow up with clients after events to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Collaboration with the Planning Department
- Work closely with the Planning Department to ensure that all event details from contracts are communicated accurately and effectively.
- Ensure a seamless handoff of confirmed bookings, providing the planning team with all relevant information for successful event execution.
- Be available for any pre-event coordination as needed to ensure client expectations are met.
- Team Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the Revenue Manager for establishing rates and booking patterns for group bookings.
- Work with resort operations, catering, and event planning teams to ensure the successful delivery of events.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create strategies and promotional materials targeting association and government group sales.
- Attend trade shows, networking events, and industry conferences to build relationships with potential clients in the association and government sectors.
- Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client communications, and event details in the CRM system.
- Prepare regular sales reports for the Director of Sales, tracking progress toward goals and identifying new business opportunities.
- Analyze market trends and sales performance to adjust strategies as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred
- 2-3 years of sales experience, preferably in the hospitality industry or event sales & planning.
- Proven track record of success in generating new business, negotiating contracts, and meeting sales targets.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple clients and bookings at once.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems (Salesforce, etc.).
- In-depth understanding of group sales and the unique needs of association and government clients.
- Ability to travel occasionally for client meetings and industry events.
