Position Summary
National 4-H Council seeks a creative, driven, team player to help 4-H become one of the industry's most sought-after Corporate & Foundation partners. The Senior Manager, Development will contribute to the Corporate & Foundations fundraising goal of $30 million through stewarding existing multi-year donors to renew their partnership and increase their investment in National 4-H Council. The Senior Manager, Development will manage donor gifts ranging from $500K to $5M from major national corporations and foundations as well as work across the organization to meet deliverables and seek opportunities to steward donors through local engagements, National Council events and customized opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Steward annual portfolio of $4M-$8M to achieve Council's fundraising goals.
- Develop customized, creative proposals based on donor interest to renew and grow national corporate and foundation funding including oversite of legal review and creating partnership impact reports.
- Develop unique activation strategies for at-risk partners that furthers their business objectives such as employee engagement, storytelling & stakeholder engagement while maximizing fundraising potential and ensuring year-over-year growth of partnership revenues.
- Liaise between cross-functional external and internal teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions per donor's needs, and to improve the entire customer experience.
- Achieve portfolio metrics with a focus on long-term retention, growth, and collaboration opportunities. Seek and develop additional revenue opportunities as appropriate.
- Manage program plan and timeline with internal teams and keep them informed and on track to execute deliverables promptly; maintain action items in a central location for the team.
- Maintain up to date and accurate tracking and reporting of all outreach in organization CRM.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure alignment on grant implementation based on partnership objectives.
- Evolve corporate and foundation partner strategy to align with the 4-H strategic campaign.
- Stay informed about organizational priorities and create areas of alignment through strategic relationship management and donor stewardship.
- Maintain knowledge of corporate and foundation giving and relevant industry trends and best practices for increasing revenue and amplifying our storytelling.
- Lead and supervise other projects as required by Director, Corporate & Foundation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, non-profit management, related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Five to Seven years proven experience working with high-level corporate donor representatives.
- Minimum of three years proven experience in successful national corporate and foundation fundraising and relationship management, including establishing and growing relationships between private and non-profit sectors and securing unrestricted/mission-based corporate and foundation funding
- Strong analytical, strategic planning, time management, and organizational skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
- An ability to manage multi-faceted projects and perform well independently in a fluid, multitasking environment is essential for success in the role.
- Strong communication skills with various stakeholders across technology platforms, including virtual and video conferencing, collaborative documents, and more.
- Adept at coordinating and prioritizing individual workload, are comfortable navigating ambiguity and working through competing priorities, and maintaining focus and communication with colleagues to perform within a team-oriented and remote environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook) required.
- Experience maintaining accurate data in a CRM database.
