The Systems Analyst (AIM Integrated Workplace Management Software) position within the Facilities Management Division of Public Works requires extensive knowledge and the ability to perform a diverse array of complex functions some of which are outlined below.

Performs application administration, installation, upgrades, documentation, training and troubleshooting as required. Performs applications administration including but not limited to adding new users, disabling users, adjusting security profiles and managing configuration parameters. Performs software upgrades on applications as required to maintain version and security compliance. Identify, analyze, and resolve issues that arise in a software application. Assist users in resolving issues and provide guidance on how to use the software. Develops complex custom reports that retrieve data from MS SQL Server databases using BIRT, Crystal Reports or other Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools. Performs requirements analysis to determine the business need for additional functionality or reports. Tests new code, either delivered by vendors or custom development, to ensure there is no negative impact to production. Creates and maintains systems documentation including but not limited to installation instructions, requirements documentation, procedural documents, training materials, and troubleshooting guides. Responds and resolves user issues/questions. Excellent communication skills and experience effectively interfacing with both technical and non-technical personnel. General Description Analyzes computer application programs and supports computer hardware devices. Works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Requires a two (2) year degree from an accredited trade, technical or vocational school, college or university with major coursework in computer science or closely related field.

(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.) Requires four (4) years experience in systems analysis and applications programming or closely related experience.

For consideration of international degrees, candidates must have it evaluated by an approved member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), or Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE). All associated expenses incurred are the responsibility of the candidate.

Special Certifications and Licenses None. Preferences Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or closely related field. Business Analyst or Support Engineer certification(s) Project Management Certification Microsoft Development Certification relevant to application development, reporting, and/or support role. Two or more years experience with SQL queries and experience with MS SQL Server databases. Two or more years experience providing technical support to end-users. Two or more years experience with software application troubleshooting and issue resolution. Two or more years experience supporting/maintaining software applications. Two or more years experience with JavaScript. Two or more years experience with BIRT, Crystal Reports or other Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools. Two or more years experience with Web Services for 3rd party interfaces. One or more years experience with Pentaho Data Integration software or other ETL software. The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.
