Defense Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced Defense Litigation Attorney to join its dynamic litigation team in Monrovia, CA. The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of experience handling cases from inception to resolution. This hybrid role (2 days per week in the office) offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative team while handling a range of litigation matters, including product liability, toxic tort, and general liability cases. Duties: Manage defense litigation cases from start to finish, including investigation, discovery, and trial preparation. Draft and file legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery responses. Represent clients in depositions, mediations, and court appearances. Work closely with clients and experts to develop case strategies and ensure thorough case preparation. Collaborate with team members to share expertise and provide high-quality service. Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and courts. Handle multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met. Requirements: 3-7 years of experience in defense litigation. Hands-on experience in managing cases from inception to resolution. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Must be licensed to practice law in California. Experience in product liability, toxic tort, or general liability litigation preferred. Ability to manage a high caseload and prioritize tasks efficiently. Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Skills: Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Excellent oral advocacy and deposition skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment. Knowledge of product liability, toxic tort, and general liability litigation. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Location: Monrovia, CA (Hybrid position with 2 days per week in-office).
