POSITION SUMMARY: The Director, Talent Initiatives leads initiatives to attract and retain college students in the Greater Cleveland area. The Director focuses on planning and executing three signature events each year and leading student outreach and engagement, while fostering partnerships with local companies and college communities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Event Planning and Execution: Collaborates with GCP Events team to plan and coordinate the three signature events: Summer in the Land, College Fest, and Winter Career Expo. Works closely with the Marketing and Communications team to develop promotional strategies for each event. Identifies and promotes a full summer schedule of events beyond Summer in the Land Designs and executes outreach plans to achieve event attendance goals. Employer and Higher Ed Outreach and Engagement: Conducts outreach to local companies and colleges to promote events and secure partnerships. Builds relationships with college administrators, faculty, and student organizations to enhance program visibility and engagement. Leads employer outreach and engagement with CTA Candidate Marketplace. Student Outreach and Campus Ambassador Program: Partners with GCP Marketing and Communications team, along with Destination Cleveland, to ensure ongoing communication with activated students. Recruits, trains, and manages a team of Campus Ambassadors to drive attendance at events. Gathers insights from Campus Ambassadors regarding student behaviors, interests, and preferences to inform program development. Leads student engagement and adoption of CTA Candidate Marketplace Budget Management: Collaborates with the CTA team to design an overall budget for college engagement initiatives. Manages event budgets, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines and maximizing resource utilization. Partners with the GCP Revenue Team to solicit and secure sponsorships for events and initiatives. Develops sponsorship packages and proposals that highlight the benefits of partnering with CTA. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyzes attendance data and feedback from events to assess effectiveness and improve future initiatives. Prepares regular reports on engagement metrics and program outcomes for stakeholders. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field. 5 – 7 years of experience in program management, or student engagement. Proven ability to collaborate with external partners toward common goals. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Experience in budget management and financial oversight. Experience with and passion for student engagement. Knowledge of the Greater Cleveland college landscape and student demographics is a plus. REQUIRED SKILLS: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders. Strong organizational and collaboration skills Creativity in event planning Proficiency in project management tools and software. Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing strategies. Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
