Assist with patent preparation and prosecution related to software, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies. Collaborate with clients, inventors, and in-house counsel to develop intellectual property strategies. Conduct prior art searches, freedom-to-operate analyses, and patent landscape reviews. Prepare patent applications and responses to office actions from the USPTO and international patent offices. Advise clients on patentability, infringement risks, and strategies for protecting their innovations. Stay updated on relevant technology trends, patent laws, and changes in intellectual property regulations. Work closely with senior attorneys and technical professionals in the drafting and prosecution of patents. Participate in client meetings to understand their business goals and translate them into strong patent portfolios. Conduct patent infringement analysis and provide technical support for litigation when necessary. Requirements
2+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution. JD and admission to the USPTO are required. Experience with technologies such as:
Software-related technologies. Artificial intelligence technologies. IoT (Internet of Things), networking, and related technologies. Quantum technologies.
Strong writing, research, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Education
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Certifications
Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). State Bar admission (Florida preferred but not required). Skills
Strong knowledge of patent law and intellectual property strategies. Excellent technical background in engineering or computer science. Superb analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in legal writing, patent drafting, and office action responses. Familiarity with patent research tools and databases.
