The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) College of Nursing invites exceptional and promising nurse leaders to apply for part-time and full-time Clinical Instructor positions in the Department of Population Health Nursing Science. Faculty advance scholarship on multilevel determinants of health and translate this scholarship into practice, care delivery, and policy to improve the health of individuals, families, communities, organizations, and populations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Teaching:

Clinical instructors participate in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Participation in scholarly teaching/learning activities (e.g., developing evidence-based learning objects/tools) Clinical supervision or guidance of students, acting as a role model or clinical preceptor

Scholarship/Research:

Nursing scholarship and research span broad content areas, diverse research designs and methodological strategies. Evidence of scholarly activities (e.g., presentations, publications, guideline development) Practice related publications Support and participation in research activities

Practice/Service:

Clinical instructors may contribute to the service mission of the university. Membership in professional organizations Participates in clinical practice committees Clinical practice in area of specialization or expertise

Minimum Qualifications:

A minimum of a master's degree in Nursing (MSN) at the time of appointment. Family Nurse Practitioner faculty qualifications are national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and eligibility for licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Illinois. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner faculty qualifications are national certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and eligibility for licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Illinois. All other programs require a State of Illinois Registered Nurse License by time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, or PhD in nursing or related sciences at the time of appointment.
