Job Overview: A prominent law firm based in Rockville, MD, is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Family Law Associate Attorney to join its expanding team. This role requires a dedicated attorney with experience in handling sensitive family law matters, including divorce, custody disputes, prenuptial agreements, alimony, and more. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in representing clients in complex and emotionally charged family law cases, with the ability to provide clear legal guidance and zealous representation.
Duties:
Represent clients in a variety of family law matters, including divorce, custody, alimony, child support, and prenuptial agreements
Attend and represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
Advise clients on complex legal matters related to child abuse, domestic violence, and custody disputes
Draft legal documents such as petitions, motions, and settlement agreements
Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients’ best interests in high-stress situations
Maintain a compassionate and professional demeanor while managing emotionally charged cases
Stay updated on family law trends, case law, and statutory changes
Provide legal counsel to clients through all stages of their case
Requirements:
Experience practicing family law
Proven ability to handle complex family law cases, including child custody and support matters
Strong courtroom experience with a focus on family law litigation
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple high-priority cases simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Ability to maintain composure in emotionally charged and high-stress situations
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in the state of Maryland
Skills:
Family law expertise, including divorce, custody, child support, and spousal support
Courtroom and litigation experience
Strong communication and advocacy skills
Negotiation and settlement expertise
Empathy and understanding of clients’ needs during challenging times
Time management and organizational skills
